Jonathan Traficonte
Principal, AIA
Museum & Cultural Practice Leader
Jon came to architecture by way of a liberal arts undergraduate education, where he majored in studio arts. During his studies, frequent visits to museums sparked an interest not only in the art on display, but in the architecture of the museums themselves. Now, as Schwartz/Silver’s Museum & Cultural Practice Leader, he is responsible for the design of a wide range of projects, including museums, cultural master plans, research libraries, and civic buildings. His recent cultural work includes two new buildings in Boston – the Holocaust Museum and the American Ancestors Family History Center. He also led the design of a new fire station in Winchendon, Massachusetts. Since 2004, Jon has served on the Design Review Board for the Town of Natick, Massachusetts, where he helped draft the town’s design guidelines. He rejuvenates on summer weekends in mid-coast Maine kayaking or cycling.
