Milton S. Eisenhower Library

Schwartz/Silver has begun work on a feasibility study for the reprogramming and renovation of the Milton S. Eisenhower Library at Johns Hopkins University.  The MSE is the principal study and research library on the university’s academic campus, with over 3.7 million volumes and an extensive array of electronic resources.  The scope of the study will include renewing all mechanical and electrical systems, as well as transforming the fifty year old structure to include new spaces for collaboration, teaching and research that enhance the use of a refined on-site collection.  And since four of the library’s six levels are underground, we will also investigate ways to bring natural light and a new openness into the building.
