Frick Art & Historical Center
At the Frick Art & Historical Center in Pittsburgh, PA, Schwartz/Silver Architects has worked closely with museum staff to reimagine the visitor’s experience of the historic grounds and collections. The Frick Art & Historical Center encompasses the grounds of Clayton, the former home of the Frick family, and is the legacy of Helen Clay Frick, a noted collector of art and antiquities.
The construction of a new orientation center, breaking ground on June 6, will introduce visitors to the center with interactive displays and provide space for museum programs. Additional renovations to the center are planned as future phases of the master plan, including improvements to the education center and a renovated home for the historic car and carriage collection.
Bill Bodine, director of the center, was quoted in Pittsburgh’s Post-Gazette, “This has been my goal all along — to fulfill our vision of serving the community.” The orientation center will help support the many programs that the Frick Art & Historical Center hosts throughout the year, from concerts to children’s events.
