Harvard Art Museum Storage
Harvard Art Museum Storage
Harvard University - Cambridge, Massachusetts
Schwartz/Silver Principal Larry Bauer completed a support center that served as the interim home for the staff and collections of the Harvard Art Museums while the Renzo Piano designed on-campus museum was under construction. Following an extensive collections storage assessment, the center was located in leased space in a speculative office structure a few miles from the campus. Then, as part of the Renzo Piano Building Workshop design team, he designed collections spaces and specified storage equipment for the expanded museum. The addition contains individual storage rooms housing 3-D objects, works on paper, paintings, and cold and cool storage vaults for photographic media.
