Schwartz/Silver has been engaged to reconstruct 97 Newbury Street as well as renovate the adjacent headquarters building to serve the long-term needs of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. NEHGS is a national center for family, history and culture known for its expertise and its database of more than 1.4 billion searchable records. This project will create a new public entry with shop and cafe at street level, provide staff offices and meeting spaces on levels 2-4, and renovate the adjacent main building to provide a new visitor information center and exhibition space. The project has been fully permitted after an extensive, complex approval process and construction is currently ongoing.
