The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution invited Schwartz/Silver to propose a design for a new high-tech conference center on its waterfront site. The facility includes a theater for formal presentations and lectures, an entrance lobby to facilitate casual interaction, and additional smaller seminar rooms and breakout spaces. Designed as a “green building” and emphasizing natural light and ventilation, Schwartz/Silver’s proposal was planned to create an environment that would foster creative collaboration among its intended users.
